The Silliest Weight Loss Products

By Belinda Mills

There are a wide variety of fat reduction solutions out there these days. Some of the time these items are actually designed to help people lose weight. There are many other products, however, that appear to be thought up for no other purpose than making a bunch of money off of people who are feeling desperate. Some of these products are so far fetched that we chose to discuss them in this article so that you will know that you shouldn't fall for the promises their marketing make.

Have you already found the fat reduction ring? This is really a band of silver that's been coiled around repeatedly and is meant to be worn on your index finger. The ring is built to put a nice amount of pressure on the pressure points that people believe are supposed to help you lose weight. Science has verified that there are some pressure points on the body that, when pressed honestly do help you to feel better. Seabands, for just one example, were designed to maintain pressure on the points that control feelings of motion sickness. But the thought that a small ring will help uou lose weight (actively, as a reminder it probably works just fine) is just absurd.

Have you found the neck line slimmer yet? This is a item that is designed to help you firm up the muscles in your neck so that you won't have any lose or hanging skin. It does this through the use of vibration. Any doctor worth his co-pay will tell you that when you've got a bunch of extra skin hanging away from your face or your neck, the skin has already been stretched out and is unlikely, even if your neck muscles strengthen, to shrink back up into the firm skin of your youth. If you're anxious about the skin on your neck, see your physician.

Have you noticed the Belly Burner Weight Loss Belt? This belt, apparently, uses heat to help you literally melt off the fat as you wear the belt itself. According to the promoting materials, this belt operates by activating your core which then makes your weight fall off...how? We have yet to truly find that out. It's true that sweating can burn calories but there is no way to make sure that those calories will only be burned away from the part of your body covered by the belt. Talking to your physician will be sufficient to validate that this product is not meant to do anything at all besides get your hard earned money.

Believe it or not there are folks out there whose primary goal is to get your money. They are aware that you are sensitive about your weight and that you are desperate to lose it so they play into that insecurity and desperation. A lot of people want to lose weight but are afraid of just how much work it is going to take to get there. If this process were truly simple, there would be fewer people getting taken advantage of. The truth is that losing weight is not effortless. No accessory, piece of clothing is going to make it happen for you.
