Underwater Games For Pool Parties

By Harriet Porter

If one is hosting a pool party for kids, it is always good to have some fun activities for the kids to play in order to keep the party interesting. One of the best things to do would be to come up with some underwater games for the kids to be able to play. For those who are new to these kinds of things, here are some ideas that may work quite well.

Of course one of the most popular game among kids would be the diving for an object at the bottom of the pool. Now the objective of the game is to simply retrieve the item that was tossed into the pool before the others would. Since this is technically a race, the first one who gets the item and brings it to the surface wins.

Now the breath holding contest is a classic pool game that so many kids would take part of. Of course the rules of the game would be to just hold the breath and try to outdo the rest of the competitors. Now the one who is able to hold the breath the longest will be considered as the winner.

One very interesting game that was inspired by the synchronized swimmers would actually be the handstand contest. Now the rules to this game are very simple as the only thing that the participants would have to do would be to hold a handstand while half their bodies are in the pool. Once their legs go down, then it is game over and the last one standing wins the match.

Now probably a lot of people would know about the game that is known as underwater tag. Of course most kids would be familiar with the popular game that is known as tag wherein one person is an it and he has to run after the others in the game. When the it tags another person, then that person becomes the it provided he does not reach the safe zone.

Now the rules for this version would actually be the same as the original tag but this time the participants will be playing in the pool. Instead of running, the participants would have to be swimming and diving under the water in order to get away from the it. Of course there would also be a designated safe zone for the escapees.

The last game on the list would be diving for treasure. Now this game would just involve tossing a few coins or some other objects into the pool for the participants to get. Now each object would have its own designated number of points and the one who has the most number of points after collecting the objects will win.

So for those who are hosting a pool party for kids, these ideas may be able to help out. What would make these games really fun is the fact that they can be quite a challenge to the children there. The more strenuous the activities are, the more tired they can become and actually the more satisfied they can be.
