For anyone interested in muscle strength and development, such as athletes, bodybuilders and any other regular gym goers, protein powders are part of the staple foods. This powder is known to aid in muscle repair and muscle growth after an intensive training. In addition to muscle building, some of the powders also come with extra benefits such as supplementing the minerals and vitamins. However, there are questions as to whether organic protein powder is just as good as the conventional non-organic varieties or better.

Any food product that is naturally grown is that one that comes from as natural conditions as possible. This might be difficult to find as natural conditions only exist in protected forest. However, it is still possible to grow plants to maturity without using any of the chemicals such as pesticides, fungicides, synthetic fertilizers, ionizing radiations, or using the scientific techniques like the genetically modified organisms (GMO). While in the market it may not be easy to identify which one is which and which one in non-natural, there are three labels that might help the buyer to identify the product. When it is labeled 100% organic, this indicates that the product contains no trace of any of the said or other non-natural chemicals.

The main advantage of natural protein is that they offer the essential ingredients to the body without introducing the unnatural substances found in antibiotics, fertilizers, and pesticides into the body. As such, there are healthier options as compared to similar products that are not natural.

Generally, a milk product sold under any of the three labels should mean that the cow from which the product was produced was fed on natural diets that are completely free of pesticides and are naturally processed. The cows are also traditionally treated and are usually from small family farms and drinks pure and healthy water. As such, the final product is usually gluten-free, sugar-free and is very low in carbohydrates.

The grass fed whey protein is usually labeled organic. Although the grains are natural in their production method, grains are not the natural food for cow. The result is an incomplete protein, which is more likely to disturb the cow's capacity to produce high quality amino-acids. Since the buyer simply ingesting what the cow ingested, it becomes a major issue of concern.

Other than milk based natural products, there are the raw protein powders that have nothing to do with the cow. The products are plant based and are thus free of dairy products, sugars, gluten, soy, and vegan. They are easier to ingest. They are not heat or processed thus preserves most of the protein. They can however be sweetened with stevia or other natural sweeteners, but not the artificial ones.

Unlike the conventional varieties, this powder is likely to cost more. They are also limited in flavors as the most common ones are chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. However, for those who suffers from food allergies and are gluten intolerance, this is the option to go. They are also a good alternative for those who want to go completely natural. They are also widely available for anyone interested and are what you should be looking for.
